Mantra

Mantra in ancient Sanskrit refers to a sacred sound or phrase that uplifts and frees the mind. Today, the term is often used for anything repeated regularly, but an authentic mantra is traditionally passed from teacher to student over thousands of years. Through meditation and repetition, it has the power to unlock our deepest potential.

Mantra + Music = Bahjans.

Bhajans are melodic songs that combine sacred mantras with music. Singing a mantra along with musical instruments helps us focus and immerse ourselves in the sound. If the mantra is the remedy, the music acts as the capsule that makes it easier to absorb and experience its benefits.

Music

Meditation is the art of turning inward—a gentle pause amid life’s constant motion. In ancient times, sages sought silence in forests and mountains; today, we seek the same stillness amid city lights and endless connection. At the London Satsang, this quiet reflection arises naturally through sound and mantra, inviting moments of presence and peace.

What is London Satsang

London Satsang is the Art of Living UK’s collective of musicians and teachers who perform and lead satsangs. The Art of Living UK has been promoting and producing events focused on meditation, breathwork and wellness for over 40 years. ‘Satsang’ is a mantra based vibrational energy program delivered in an interactive concert like event designed to take participants on a journey of Vedic and Sanskrit chanting with contemporary music that explores the boundaries of folk, jazz and rock whilst staying deeply rooted in the timeless traditions of Indian bhajans.

The performances range from large-scale ensemble concerts featuring three to five vocalists with diverse styles performing in a collaborative, improvisational format to smaller, intimate workshops spotlighting one or two featured vocalist. Across both formats, their music offers an experimental yet accessible exploration of mantra and sound, inviting audiences into a deeply uplifting and joyful journey.

Join us at the Swiss Church for an intimate gathering of Satsang enthusiasts and immerse yourself in sound that will take you to the core of your being.
